Of a stationary contact 131 and a movable contact 132 which form the switch 13, the stationary contact 131 is formed by bending downward a portion of the rear end of an upper face 121 of a metal shell 12 covering an insulative housing 11 which is to be coupled with a mating connector not shown. Further, the movable contact 132 extends with a fixed end 132a thereof held by the insulative housing 11 and is bifurcated at substantially the middle of the extension. The one free end 132b has an engaging section 132d engaging a mating connector approaching the engaging section 132d in the fitting direction; and the other free end 132c has a contact section 132e making contact with the stationary contact 131 when the engaging section 132d is pressed by the mating connector.
