In the connector, the detection member 70 is kept at a standby position before proper insertion coupling of both housings 10, 90, and the detection member 70 is permitted to move to a detective position when the both housings 10, 90 are properly insertion-coupled. The detection member 70 is equipped with a first detection portion 71, which is locked to the housing 10 in the standby position on one hand and permits to move the detection member 70 to the detection position, by releasing the locking state to the housing 10 with the insertion coupling of the housings 10, 90, and a second detection portion 72 which restricts the detection member 70 to move to the detection position in the middle of movement, by interfering with the partner housing 90, when the both housings 10, 90 are in a half-insertion-coupled state, when the detection member 70 is moved toward the detection position.
