PURPOSE: To shorten the length of the part which protrudes to the back of the connector body by inserting a tab on the back in the folded condition into a through hole provided in the connector body, and thereafter folding another tab on the front.
CONSTITUTION: A contact 30 penetrates a through hole 22 provided in the connector body 21, and is secured to the connector body 21 with the aid of a tab 31 in the folded form at the part mating with a front opening 26 and another tab 32 in the folded form at the part confronting a back opening 27. A right angle bent leg 33 is formed at the part protruding to the back of the connector body 21, and the connector 20 is solded at its leg 33 bottom fast to a printed circuit board 34. Thus mounting on the circuit board is made. The leg was folded previously, and this folded point can be located close to the back of the connector body without receiving restraint in the condition that the contact is incorporated into the connector body. This enables shortening of the length of the part protruding to the back of the connector body.
