Abstract:
To provide a constant velocity universal joint that eliminates the need for an air bleeding process and improves work efficiency.SOLUTION: A constant velocity universal joint comprises a cylindrical outside joint member 11 comprising an opening part 10, an inside joint member 12, a plurality of balls 13 being torque transmission members, a cage 14, and a boot 15 for sealing the opening part 10 of the outside joint member 11. The boot 15 comprises a boot body 22 having elasticity, and a boot adapter 23 made of a metal cylinder. The boot adapter 23 comprises a large-diameter cylinder part 23a fitted on the outside of the opening part 10 of the outside joint member 11, a small-diameter cylinder part 23b connected to the boot body 22, and an annular shoulder part 23c for connecting the large-diameter cylinder part 23a and the small-diameter cylinder part 23b. The shoulder part 23c comprises an annular concave part 23d. A seal part is formed on an axial end surface 11d on the side of the opening part 10 of the outside joint member 11 by a seal ring 4 housed in the annular concave part 23d.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
