Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outside joint member for a constant velocity universal joint which does not require large-scale equipment and, moreover, can perform joint integration and separation with a simple operation, and to provide the constant velocity universal joint using such an outside joint member.SOLUTION: An outside joint member for constant velocity universal joint is configured such that a cup part and a shank part which are constituted with different members from each other are integrally connected. Therein, a first face spline in which a plurality of protruded parts extended in the radial direction and a plurality of recessed parts extended in the radial direction are alternately arranged along the circumferential direction is formed on a bottom wall outer surface of the cup part. A second face spline in which a plurality of recessed parts extended in the radial direction and a plurality of protruded parts extended in the radial direction are alternately arranged along the circumferential direction is formed on a base part outer edge surface of the shank part. The cup part and the shank part are integrally connected by screwing a bolt member while fitting the first face spline of the cup part and the second face spline of the shank part by butting the bottom wall outer surface of the cup part against the base part outer edge surface of the shank part.
