To prevent a bellows root portion 16c' from being sandwiched between a casing edge 11a and a shaft 12 without depending on a profile contrivance of a bellows portion 16c, but depending on the other means.
A projection 18 is arranged in a periphery within a boot 16 of the shaft 12. When the shaft 12 is tilted by a maximum operation angle θ with respect to a casing 11, if the projection 18 pushes outward the root portion 16c' nearest to the casing 11 of the bellows portion 16c with the tilting, the root portion 16c' is free from being sandwiched between the casing edge 11a and the shaft 12 in such a way that when it moves toward the casing edge 11a', it is pushed outward from the casing edge 11a soon. Therefore, the profile contrivance of the boot 16 for preventing the sandwich is not necessary, furthermore, a compact boot can be obtained because constraint on a design of the boot 16 is not required, and constraint on a layout of a constant velocity universal joint becomes less simultaneously.
