Abstract:
To provide a method for protecting or restraining a seismic isolator without being damaged and deformed which can be surely performed.SOLUTION: A method for restraining a seismic isolator 3 in which a seismic isolator 3 is mounted between a lower structure and an upper structure includes mounting polygonal base plates 6 and 7 on each of a lower structure 1 and an upper structure 2 in mounting of the seismic isolator 3, mounting upper and lower base plates 4 and 5 of the seismic isolator 3 on the base plates 6 and 7, mounting horizontal restraining materials 9 on four facing sides of the base plates 4 and 5, mounting vertical restraining materials 10 at close inner positions of the four sides to restrain displacement in a crossed direction, and thereby pre-arranging the seismic isolator 3, which completely secures a design process of a base isolation layer so as not to affect the entire building work process and can greatly reduce a construction period of the upper structure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
