Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a group of bits into a spherical body to make it possible to perform repairs and inspection and, at the same time, to enable the excavation of a tunnel with a small diameter even in the ground having tremendous resistance such as a gravel layer.
SOLUTION: In a shield machine storing a group of bits in a spherical body, a disc of a cutter is divided into a plurality of circles having a diameter capable of being stored in the spherical body to form a group of fan-shaped cutters, intervals of a group of fan-shaped cutters 1 are constituted in an openable manner, and when the intervals of a group of fan-shaped cutters 1 are opened, if the utmost outside section is so constituted that it is equal to the inside diameter of the tunnel. When the intervals of the fan-shaped cutters 1 are opened, retractable cutters 2 toward between the fan-shaped cutters 1 are arranged to the insides of the fan-shaped cutters 1.
