PURPOSE: To both avoid harm of a burn to the human body or the like and obtain effective use of space in a ship, by constituting a gunnel folded to the inside of the ship at the top end of bulwarks, horizontally extending an end part of the gunnel in the vicinity of the upper part of an exhaust pipe, combining it to the side wall of an engine room and coverihg an upper part of the exhaust pipe with said extension part.

CONSTITUTION: In a ship where an exhaust pipe 7 is arranged extending through bulwarks 2 from an engine casing 4, at a top end of the bulwarks 2 gunnels 3 folded to the inside of the ship are constituted simultaneously in the vicinity of an upper part of the exhaust pipe 7 an end part of the gunnel 3 is almost horizontally extended and combined to a side wall of the engine casing 4. This extension part 6 is constituted in such a manner as to cover the upper part of the exhaust pipe 7 to both prevent the human body from a burn or the like by touching the exhaust pipe 7 and utilize upper and lower portions of the exhaust pipe 7 for a storeroom and the like and obtain effective use of space in the ship.
