PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method of a composite structure composed of a base material reinforced with a sheet-like reinforcement material woven from inorganic fiber or organic fiber, capable of achieving a relatively high strength and toughness; and a composite structure.SOLUTION: A mortar base layer is formed on the surface of a building frame (reinforced concrete body) (S1), and an adhesive is applied to the surface of the mortar layer (S2). A sheet-like reinforcement material is attached to the adhesive coated surface (S3). On this occasion, the adhesive on the surface of the mortar layer is transferred to the rear face of the sheet-like reinforcement material. Further, an adhesive is applied to the surface of the sheet-like reinforcement material (S4). Subsequently a coating mortar layer is formed on the adhesive coated surface (S5). Until a required number of layers are formed, the steps S2 to S5 are repeated. Upon completion of construction, both of the adhesive and the mortar layer are uncured. Subsequent standing still for a required curing time allows both of the adhesive and the mortar layer to be cured (S6). The sheet-like reinforcement material is made of, for example, a mesh sheet woven from basalt fiber.
