Title:
CONSTRUCTION METHOD OF INTAKE PIPE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3279227
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct an intake pipe without occupying a straight rising part.
SOLUTION: This construction method allows to construct a shield tunnel 12 by constructing a starting vertical shaft 10, breaking the wall of the starting vertical shaft 10, and moving a shield machine toward a coast side. The tunnel 12, which is to be an intake pipe after its construction, is constructed by assembling segments into a ring-shape subsequently at its rear part side with digging work by the shield machine. For the segments, an RC segment and a ductile segment 20 of two types are used. A water intake hole blocked with a covering element is formed in the segment 20. After the construction of the tunnel 12 is completed, pressured air is introduced into the tunnel 20. Workers enter the inside of the shield tunnel 12 to remove the covering element of the ductile segment 20. After the covering element is removed, sea water is taken in the tunnel 12 through the water intake hole by decreasing inner pressure little by little so as not to let the sea water flow in the tunnel 12 all at once.
