To lighten a burden of care of a roof, and prevent unexpected intentional deviation or movement of each tile.
A plurality of tiles 11 are placed on an upper surface of an underlaying material 12 by mounting a fixing member 18 between the vertically adjacent tiles 11, 11. The fixing member 18 is provided with a first engaging part 20 engaged with a lower end part 11b of an upper tile 111, a second engaging part 21 engaged with an upper end part 11a of a lower tile 11, and a connecting part 22 connecting the lower end of the first engaging part 20 to the upper end of the second engaging part 21. The fixing member 18 is mounted before, after or during the placement of the tile 11 to engage the engaging parts 20, 21 with the vertically adjacent tiles 11, 11. After that, a caulking material 24 is applied to the vertically adjacent tiles 11, 11 in a manner of concealing the first engaging part 20 from the outside.
