Abstract:

To provide a construction method for a towering structure capable of safely constructing a large towering structure such as a checker chamber for a hot blast stove of a blast furnace in a short period of time at a low cost without using a large crane.

A construction method for a towering structure: constructs a plurality of blocks which are longitudinally segmentalized components (from the lower most block B1 to the upper most block Bn) of a checker chamber 1 to be constructed; installs a plurality of heavy load lifting devices 2, as temporary structures, extendable in a vertical direction around the checker chamber 1 to be constructed; connects the heavy load lifting devices 2 with beams; attaches jacks 5 to the heavy load lifting devices 2 through the beams; lifts up the upper most block Bn of the checker chamber 1 with the jacks 5; piles the block Bn on top of the block Bn-1 which is one block lower than the same; connects the two piled blocks; lifts up the connected blocks Bn and Bn-1 in an integrated manner; piles the connected blocks on top of the block which is further lower than the two blocks; connects the piled blocks; and repeats operation to lift and connect the blocks.
