To improve constructing performance by connecting a similar succeeding element between preceding elements constructed through a space and formed of water barrier plates and water barrier material.
A water barrier plate 6 with a female type joint is inserted along guide members 5 with male type joints on both ends of a thin vertical ditch excavated in the ground. Solidifying material is filled except both end parts in the ditch to construct a preceding element 9. After constructing a similar preceding element 9a with a specified distance spaced, the guides 5 on the opposed side of the elements 9, 9a are removed. A thin vertical ditch is excavated between the elements 9, 9a, and a water barrier plate 11 with a joint 11a is inserted along the male type joints of the preceding elements 9, 9a. A filler such as nonshrink mortar is filled in the joint parts, and water barrier material is filled in the ditch to form a succeeding element. The quantity of excavated earth can thereby be reduced, consturction can be performed without the limit of depth, and deformation performance can be improved.
