Abstract:
The purification of petrols, containing dienes and/or acetylenes, and mercaptan impurities, from catalytic cracking units comprises submitting the charge to selective hydrogenation, stabilising the effluent obtained, and subjecting to a sweetening process. The petrol obtained is degassed to produce a de-dienised, stabilised and sweetened product. Also claimed is an apparatus for the above process.
