Abstract:
PURPOSE: To ensure good contact protection by a simple method, even in an automatic trip not only in manual charging or release but also in the occurrence of failures in an electric device formed of a contact maker breaker wherein the same electric power contact is used for the function of a contact maker and the function of a contact breaker. CONSTITUTION: A superconducting element 18, controlled by a heat generator, is connected to a power contact in series. Since the superconducting element 18 is constituted to exhibit a very high resistance after a controlled transformation from a superconducting state to a normal conducting state in response to a close circuit command or an open circuit command, or after the intrinsic transformation from a superconducting state to a normal conducting state in response to a faulty current, a contact maker breaker which can perform switching of power contacts 19, 20 for the same leakage current of an extremely low value is disclosed.
