Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily formed contact pin reducing the number of components and capable of reducing costs, and a socket for an electrical component provided with the contact pin.
SOLUTION: The contact pin 15 arranged on a socket body 13 housing an IC package and electrically connecting a terminal of the IC package and a printed circuit board has a plunger 26 contacting the IC package, a bottom contact 27 contacting the printed circuit board, and a spring 28 biasing the bottom contact 27 and the plunger in mutually separating directions. The bottom contact 27 is formed by pressing a plate material, and it is formed with a connecting part 27c for slidably inserting the plunger 26.
