A movable contact 3 of the contact for switching device has its cross-section shape on a face vertical to its axis direction formed in a polygon, and a movable-side fixed finger contact 1 as well as a fixing-side fixed contact finger 2 has its cross-section shape formed in a polygon surrounding an outer periphery of the movable contact 3, with each side of the polygon structured of nearly flat finger-contact structuring members 13. Further, the finger-contact structuring members 13 have their slits extended from one end side where protruded parts 12, 22 in contact with the movable contact 3 are located toward the other end side in the axis direction up to a position shown in a symbol A (a broken line) to form a plurality of fingers 11, 21.
