To provide a contact tip, in which the power supply point of an electrode wire in a wire inserting hole is fixed so that welding work is stably conducted, and which has excellent durability, a simple structure, and excellent cost-reduction property.
The contact tip for supplying welding power comprises: a tip body 11, which is formed approximately into a cylindrical shape using a conductive metal as a material; and a wire inserting hole 12, which is pierced through the axis of the tip body 11 and holds an electrode wire W inserted. The tip body 11 has a pair of halved tip members 14, 15 formed into a halved shape along the axis direction of the body 11. Wire inserting grooves 16 are formed in the longitudinal direction of mating surfaces 13 of the halved tip members, and the mating surfaces are combined in a state of face-to-face to be formed into the tip body. The mating surfaces of the halved tip members are arranged so as to be inclined by inserting a spacer member 18 in a base part 11a of the tip body, so that a rear edge space S32 at the space between the mating surfaces of the halved tip members is larger than a front edge space S 31.
