To extend or vary a communication area by a contactless communication system by which an interrogator and a transponder communicate with each other by their respective loop antennas in a non contact manner.
The contactless communication system is provided with auxiliary antennas C1-C3 composed of loop-shaped coils which exhibit resonating properties with frequencies identical with or close to those of contactless communication between the loop antennas A1 and A2 of the interrogator and the loop antennas D1-D3 of the responder and are bent so that they may form several un-parallel faces. The auxiliary antennas C1-C3 are subjected to electromagnetic induction by a magnetic field which is generated by the loop antennas A1 and A2 of the interrogator. The loop antennas D1-D3 of the responder are subjected to electromagnetic induction by a magnetic field which is generated by the auxiliary antennas C1-C3 by the electromagnetic induction. In this way, the interrogator and the responder establish contactless communication through the auxiliary antennas C1-C3.
