To provide a contactless power transmission device and a contactless charging system which quickly end confirmation of connection between the contactless power transmission device and a contactless power receiving device and quickly charge a load.
A primary control unit 14 causes power to be output intermittently. The primary control unit 14 monitors an induced electromotive force of a primary coil L1, and when the waveform of the induced electromotive force changes, determines that a contactless power-receiving device 20 is installed and transmits a confirmation signal by ac power as high as power output during charging. When receiving a response signal, the primary control unit 14 continues output of ac power to the primary coil L1 to perform charging.
