Abstract:
PURPOSE: To sterilize and reduce weight of contagious medical waste without generating odor or smoke, and enable processed waste to be packed automatically.
CONSTITUTION: A charging body 7 of contagious medical waste contained in a container is charged into a charging chamber 1 by an elevation mechanism 5, and the charging body is crushed by a guide blade 1e and a crushing blade 1f while water is applied to it with its contents. A feed mechanism chamber 2 is heated by a band heater 9, crushed matter is fused while it is carried, generated gas is supplied from a gas/steam discharge port 2c to a gas processing chamber 4, and fused matter is supplied to a discharge chamber 3. In the gas processing chamber 4, odor and smoke are eliminated through water tanks 40, 41, a radiator 42, a cleaner 43, and a deodorizer 44, and it is emitted by a blower 45 to open air. In the discharge chamber 3, the fused matter is cut by a cutter 3a, and it is cooled and accumulated close to a shutter 3c. As the shutter 3c is opened, cut matter drops to a stocker box 6a, and it is packed as general waste.
