To provide a container management system capable of relatively easily constructing a system and of managing conditions of containers.
This container management system includes: container ID codes C4; a GPS receiving part for obtaining vehicle position data; an imaging device for obtaining the electronic image data of the container ID codes C4; an on-vehicle apparatus 4 for wirelessly transmitting operation type data, operation date and time data, the vehicle position data and the electronic image data to a communication network 5 when operations on the containers are at least performed; a management server 8. The management server 8 has a gateway as a server side receiving part and a CPU for analyzing the electronic image data to identify the containers and for obtaining the identified information in relation to the containers.
