The container (1) for microwave heat cooking comprises an open-top square container body (10) which has a bottom area becoming wider with height upward, and a lid (20) covers the open face (2) of the container body (10). The lid (20) is fitted into the open face (2) of the container body (10) to forms a top face having steam vent holes (22). The volume of the container (1) is defined in such a way that the height (H) and the bottom area (S) of the container body (10) has the relation: H=500/S, and the quantity of water poured into the container body at the time of cooking comes to have a height less than 2 cm from the bottom of the container body.
