PURPOSE: To achieve a lowering in the costs of packing material and transportation by providing a forming corrugated cardboard base sheet having the grooves and the ridges provided with the notches to hold fluorescent display tubes and an exterior corrugated cardboard box for receiving the base sheet.

CONSTITUTION: As shown in the figure 2 and the figure 3, a base sheet 1 is bent and shaped into the grooves shown by broken lines and the ridges shown by the solid lines and the ridge is provided with notches 3 to retain fluorescent display tubes 9. The length (a) of the notch 3 equals to that of the fluorescent display tube 9 and the width (b) thereof is not more than that of the fluorescent display tube 9 and not less than 1/5 its width. The number of the notches 3 of the base sheet 1 to be arranged laterally and longitudinally is determined by the size of the fluorescent display tube 9 and that of an exterior container 3 for receiving the base sheet 1 therein. The base sheet 1 thus formed is placed into the exterior container 2. The longitudinal and lateral dimensions of the exterior container 2 are such as to meet the standards on containers for international trade, thereby improving the container capacity in transportation.
