This container position information management system in the container cargo vehicle manages the position information of the container C transported to a predetermined place by the container cargo vehicle capable of loading and unloading of the container C between ground and a vehicle body. In the container C, a specific information medium 3 for specifying the container C is provided. The container cargo vehicle is provided with an information reading device 4 for reading the information from the specific information medium 3 to specify the container C, and a position information recognition device 5 for recognizing present position information. The specific information for specifying the container C and the position information are transmitted to a base station 7 via a communication means 6, and the position information of each container C is managed in the base station 7.
