To reduce the height of a stack of layered containers to stabilize a container at the top layer of the stack.
In the stacked containers, a flange 1 is arranged between a lower corner metal fixture a1 of an upper layer container A1 and an upper corner metal fixture a2 of a lower layer container A2. The flange 1 has a pair of projections 2, 3, which are formed on the upside and underside of the flange 1, respectively, to be fitted into engaging holes h1, h2 of the metal fixtures a1, a2. A pair of tapered surfaces 15a, 15b, which slope in reverse to each other, are formed on the outer periphery of the flange 1, and each tapered surface 15a, 15b is made in contact with a chamfer C formed on the opening of each engaging hole h1, h2. The containers A1, A2 are stacked in the above manner to reduce the height of the stack to stabilize the container at the top layer.
