The container screw cap is fitted to the container 10 that has a male thread 12 and a bead 13 which project from the periphery of its mouth 11. In the container screw cap, a cap body 1 includes a top plate 2, and a cylindrical skirt 3 extending downward from the top plate 2. The skirt 3 has a female thread 4 that is screwed to the male thread 12. An axial distance A from the top of the mouth to the lower end of the skirt when the cap is fitted is longer than a distance B from the top of the mouth to the maximum diameter portion of the bead 13. In addition, the inside diameter of the lower end of the skirt is made smaller than the maximum diameter of the bead.
