The hanging beam of an autostack crane 34 is of a two stages hanging beam structure consisting of an upper hanging beam 29 and a lower hanging beam 30 by which a spreader 15 is supported so as to be capable of being transversely traveled. The lower hanging beam 30 is made to be slidable with regard to the upper hanging beam 29. Positioning pins 32 which are inserted or extracted in the width direction of the passage 5 by the operation of a positioning cylinder 31 are incorporated at the four corners of the lower hanging beam 30. Positioning holes 35 for insertedly fitting the positioning pins 32 are provided to each of the container storing shelves 2 of storing buildings 3. The overturning moment at the time of warehousing and delivering of containers is supported by the storing buildings 3 through the positioning pins 32.
