To open a cover by a simple operation without requiring a large force by a method wherein the cover can be opened only by hooking and pulling up the cover, and a pulling-up force is applied to a finger hooking piece so as to weaken the engagement between a container body and a cover body.
In a container with a cover made of a synthetic resin sheet, a container body wherein an outer mouth flange is provided on a cylindrical main body with a bottom is provided, and engaging, projecting strips 9 for engagement with the outer mouth flange are provided on a skirt cylindrical piece 8 provided on a plate-like cover body 6 through a mounting flange 7 at a plurality of locations. A finger hooking piece 10 is extended from a location of the lower end of the cylindrical piece 8, while a reinforcing rib is extended from between the hooking piece 10 and the cylindrical piece 8 in a curved form. By pulling up and inclining the piece 10, the piece 8 is inclined outward by the action of levers, thereby disengaging the container body and the cover body 5.
