PURPOSE: To discharge powder residue on the bottom of a container forcibly to the outside by a method wherein a rink-like membrane is provided on the flat bottom surface of the powder container coaxially with a discharge opening and a gas is introduced between the membrane and the container.
CONSTITUTION: A freely deformable, nearly circular rubber or nylon made membrane 31 is provided around a discharge opening 7 located in the central position of the bottom part 5 of a container 1 having a nearly cylindrical shape as a whole. The membrane 31 is formed into a circular shape extending from one end 31a along the side wall 1b of the container and from the other end 31b along the discharge opening 7, when the powder is placed in the container 1 and the discharge opening is opened, the powder is dropped through the discharge opening 7 under its own weight, while some powder remains in the container forming its repose angle. A gas is then sent from a gas inlet 33 into a sealed chamber 32 to spread the membrane into a conical form, thereby dropping the powder 20 through the discharge opening 7.
