To provide a container which can regulate amount of a coating material stuck onto a coating roller without separately preparing a screen.

The container 10 that can be used to store a coating material is provided with an upper part 14 having an opening 12 and an edge surrounding the opening 12, a bottom part 16 located at the bottom of the container 10 and a side part 18. The opening 12 of the container 10 has an area capable of superposing another container 10 thereon. Thereby the containers can be mutually piled up and they needs no extra space when the container 10 is sold or is transported. The side part of the container 10 has four surfaces and at least one projection 20 is provided at one surface of the side part 18. The projection 20 is used to regulate amount of the coating material stuck onto a coating tool such as a coating roller and a brush.
