PURPOSE: To put the umbrella in a bag as it is in a state that umbrella cloth is flapping by forming a bag in which a folding umbrella can be contained in both a long state that it is being used and a short state that it is not used.

CONSTITUTION: In the case an umbrella which gets wet in the rain and set to length of a use state is put into a containing bag 20 for the umbrella, it is inserted into a first opening 23 of a bag body 22 from the side of a stop band 24. In the case a folded umbrella is contained, the tip part of the folded umbrella is fitted into a cap 25 provided on a detaining band 24, and it is pushed into the bag as it is. As a result, as for the containing bag 20 for the umbrella, as the umbrella is inserted, the tip part of a first opening 23 goes into the bag and the overall length of the bag is shortened. The upper part of the containing bag 20 for the umbrella gets into the inside of the lower part and becomes double, therefore, the overall length becomes short to about half. By setting a hook provided on a detaining piece 34, a slit 30 becomes narrow, and simultaneously, the whole containing bag 20 for the umbrella becomes a state adhering closely to the umbrella.
