Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently process contaminated water such as seawater or the like that is contaminated by radioactive CS and Sr.SOLUTION: In the contaminated water processing method and processing unit, an amphoteric ion-exchange resin 2 is used to separate contaminated water W including radioactive strontium ion, radioactive cesium ion, alkali metal ion and alkaline-earth metal ion into: a first solution that has high concentrations of alkali metal ion and radioactive cesium ion but has low concentrations of radioactive strontium ion and alkaline-earth metal ion; and a second solution that has low concentrations of alkali metal ion and radioactive cesium ion but has high concentrations of radioactive strontium ion and alkaline-earth metal ion. A reverse osmosis membrane 4 is used to separate the second solution into concentrated water and plain water, and an adsorbent is used to adsorb the radioactive cesium ion included in the first solution.
