To provide a contamination controlling element-holding material which has excellent canning workability, from which a contamination controlling element is not separated during the canning work and which has excellent heat resistance, surface pressure keeping property and wind erosion resistance.
The contamination controlling element-holding material consists of a mat of a textile material. Each of the outer and inner peripheral surfaces of the mat is impregnated at least with a frictional force/adhesive force controlling agent consisting of latex which is decomposed and disappears at a high temperature. The solid content of the frictional force/adhesive force controlling agent in the inner peripheral surface of the mat is made larger than that of the frictional force/adhesive force controlling agent in the outer peripheral surface of the mat and is made to be 15-50 g/m2.
