Abstract:

To enable content information different for each client to be distributed by a multicast, using a content distribution method and system by which multimedia contents composed of animation, voice, still pictures, text and the like are distributed from a server to the clients.

A media management server 10 uses a unicast to send to the clients 28 both media information indicating content to be received via a network and screen layout information indicating the arrangement of a screen display. Based on the media information, the client 28 receives the content information distributed by the multicast.
