A feature quantity arithmetic unit 34 calculates the feature quantity of broadcast contents. A database registration unit 35 registers the feature quantity from the feature quantity arithmetic unit 34 to a database 36 in cross-reference with storage address information of related contents in a storage section 33 and key information from a key information generating unit 31. A feature quantity arithmetic unit 55 calculates the feature quantity from output data generated via an antenna 51 and a use unit 54. A related contents information acquisition unit 56 acquires the storage address information and the key information of the related contents from a distributor 12 on the basis of the calculated feature quantity. A related contents acquisition section 58 acquires the related contents from the distributor 12 on the basis of the acquired storage address information. A decoding unit 59 decodes the related contents by using the key information. The contents distribution system or the like is applicable to distribution systems of television broadcasting.
