Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content providing device and a content providing method capable of providing content in an appropriate mode to an unknown portable terminal.SOLUTION: When a second determination part 144 determines that acquired terminal information of a portable terminal 2 which has transmitted a piece of request information is not stored in a temporary display mode DB 132, a content providing device 1 transmits, via a preliminary page transmission part 145, a preliminary page which includes a script to make the portable terminal 2 transmit individual identification information and display mode information of the portable terminal 2 to the content providing device 1 and automatically transmit another piece of request information. The content providing device 1 receives, via a temporary display mode information registration part 146, the individual identification information and the display mode information of the portable terminal 2 from the portable terminal 2 which has transmitted the request information, and stores the individual identification information and the display mode information in association with a user agent character string in the temporary display mode DB 132.
