Abstract:
To provide a method enabling a client side to easily recognize what content has been added to a server on a network and to reproduce the content.
In the contents reproduction system, a content list prepared for each media player is obtained by each corresponding media player, and a newly obtained content list and the content list previously stored in an ROM are compared so as to determine whether or not there is newly added content. When there is newly added content, its notice is issued and the user is prompted to choose whether to reproduce the content immediately. When reproduction is chosen by the user, an operation signal indicating reproduction is transmitted to a control part so that the content is reproduced.
