This contents reproducing system includes a contents server 2 for delivering contents, and a contents recording and reproducing device 1 having a contents storage means for recording and reproducing the contents delivered from the contents server 2 through an electric communication line, wherein when the contents recording and reproducing device 1 breaks down, the contents stored in the contents recording and reproducing device 1 are transmitted from the contents server 2 to the contents recording and reproducing device 1.
