Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve a contxt processing function by providing this context analyzing system with a metaquestion detecting means and a metaquestion processing means and distinguishing a metaquestion as an.interrupting question to a question for a normal objective area.
CONSTITUTION: A syntax meaning analyzing means 1 prepares a meaning expression for an inputted natural language sentence based upon the sentence. The metaquestion detecting means 2 inputs the meaning expression, ijaspects the possibility of a metaquestion and judges whether a question is a metaquestion or not by using the metaquestion processing means 4. The means 4 for interpreting the meaning of an input sentence based upon a context while uti. lmzing iraformation indicating a metaquestion or not judges the rnetaquestion while utilizing an objective area/system knowledge base 5 in accordane with a request from the means 2. The base 5 stores knowledge relating to the contents and structure of a subject area to be processed and knowledge relating to a system for processing the knowledge and the contents of the knowledge stored in the base 5 can be utilized by the means 1, 4 and a context analyzing means 3 when jaecessary.
