Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000051910
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce the number of rolls of a conveying line and to decrease rubbed marks, struck marks and the like on rolled steel by travelably providing a hot joining device and a device with which the rolled steel are clamped between a roughing mill and a finishing mill.

In continued hot rolling equipment, an intermediate coiler 2, a leveler 3 and a crop shear 4 are installed between the roughing mill 1 and a finishing mill group 6 and the hot joining device 5 and the device 19 for clamping/traveling the rolled steel are provided. In this continued hot rolling equipment, after descaling the end parts of two rolled steel, they are joined and finishing rolling is executed. The clamping/traveling device 19 is composed by providing a pinch roll with whcih the rolled steel is guided while rotated, and a guiding plate which is inclinable and swingable upward and downward on a frame body. The clamping/traveling device 19 can be used even when continued hot rolling is not executed. In such a case, the conveying speed is accelerated higher that in a usual conveying method.
