PURPOSE: To obtain a cast slab having excellent internal quality without segregation by forming a convex crown at least at the center part of one side roll group in supporting roll group near the last solidification position.
CONSTITUTION: The convex crouwns are formed at the center parts of at least one side in the supporting roll group 3, 3... to near the last solidification point X, desirably, the upper side of curved cast slab and further desirably, both sides of the supporting roll group 3, 3.... This convex crown rates are made to be larger by larger from just below the mold to near the last solidification point X, such as C1, C2, C3...Cn. By using the supporting roll group 3, 3... having the convex crowns, the projecting rate at the center part in the width direction of the cast slab generated with the mold 2 having the recessed part is gradually reduced by rolling and the uniform rolling reduction force in the width direction of solidified shell can be given.
