PURPOSE: To obtain a beam blank having uniform quality easily at a low cost by providing pressure molding force to suitable rolls out of roll groups constituting an ingot guide device for the secondary cooling zone of a continuous casting device.
CONSTITUTION: In an ingot guide device of a secondary cooling zone, pressurinzing and forming rolls 5 and support rolls 4 are disposed afternately. Shapes of the rolls 5 are formed into a shape 5 in which the roll length of part of the rolls is smaller than the width of an ingot 10. Thereafter, these are succeesively changed to such roll shapes by which desired sections are obtained. Side rolls 6 are provided in suitable places of such rolls 5, to prevent the deformation of the ingot 10 and, if necessary, to apply pressing force. While the ingot 10 is being drawing between such rolls 5, 7. side rolls 6 and support roll 4, it solidifies gradually and is pressure-molded to desired sections until it is transferred out as a beam blank.
