PURPOSE: To cast arbitrary ingots freely by constituting supporting roll devices for a continuous casting device freely supportably of arbitrary ingots such as slabs, blooms and billets in addition to beam blanks and constituting molds freely exchangeably.
CONSTITUTION: Supporting roll devices are constituted of supporting rolls 3 for side faces of flanges, supporting rolls 4 for webs, supporting rolls 5 for the tips of flanges and supporting rolls 6 for flanges. In the case of forming a beam blank ingot 1, the beam blank is formed with 8-faces roll supporting devices (a) in a zoneI, 4-faces roll supporting devices (b) in a zone II, and 2-faces roll supporting devices (c) in a zone III. In the stage of casting a slab, a mold 2 is changed to a slab casting mold, and the respective rolls of the roll supporting devices are operated vertically. In the zonesI, II, the supporting rolls 4 for webs are operated upon an ingot 200 and in the zone III, the supporting rolls 6 for flanges are operated, whereby the slab is formed. Blooms and billets are formed in the same way.
