PURPOSE: To make possible the continuous casting and extrusion of the cast ingot of good quality with good efficiency despite the small capacity, by installing the apparatus for giving preparatory rolling reduction to the cast metal parting from the belt, and for extruding this cast metal, at the wheel-belt type continuous casting plant.

CONSTITUTION: The molten metal, being supplied from the nozzle 12 and being cast into the mold to be formed between the wheel 1 provided with the concave groove at its circumferential surface and the belt 2 contacting with the ingot 14, which then parts from the belt 2 and is subjected to a slight rolling reduction by the preparatory rolling roll 7. Hereupon, the cast ingot 14 again closely contacts with the groove and advances sliding along the wall 16 formed by the shoe 8. This rectangular sectioned cast ingot 15 receives the resistance from the wall 16 of the shoe 8; however, it is driven by three faces of the groove of the wheel 1, so that it receives the forward thrust and is extruded out of the wheel groove through the die hole 9 of the shoe 8; hereby, the area of section shape 11 is reduced in the product 10 which is then continuously extruded.
