Title:
CONTINUOUS CASTING FACILITY HAVING MAGNETIC FIELD IMPRESSING FUNCTION IN MOLD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3546306
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sound cast slab in which pushing flaw on the cast slab caused by a seal material, such as an expand metal, whisker-state iron powder, used in the unsteady part at the starting time of continuous casting and a joint part of different kinds of steels, etc. is eliminated and the surface defect is not developed.
SOLUTION: In a continuous casting facility having a magnetic field impressing function in a mold, with which the flowing of molten steel is controlled by impressing the magnetic field to the molten steel in the mold from the back surfaces of side walls in the mold, and this molten steel is ordinarily cooled between roll group succeeded to the lower part of the mold to make the continuously cast slab, among the above roll group, the rolls in the range of 1000 mm from the lower end of the mold are used to non-magnetic rolls.
