Abstract:

To enlarge the contacting area of reducing gas with molten metal, to increase reducing capacity and to facilitate the repairing of molten metal flowing passage by meandering the flow in a transporting trough of the molten metal melted with a melting furnace.

As the material of the molten metal, an oxygen-free copper, Cu or Cu alloy, Fe or Fe alloy, Al or Al alloy is used. The transporting trough 1 arranges projections 3 at a prescribed interval at the center part in the molten metal flowing passage 2 or projections 13 at the prescribed interval alternatively at both edge parts in the width direction in the molten metal flowing passage 2. As the bottom surface shape of the projections 3, 13, a trianglar shape is particularly desirable and this material is desirable to be heat resistant material of SiC, ceramic, etc. The fitting of the projections 3, 13 into the molten metal flowing passage 2 is desirable to be burying, and the cross sectional shape of the molten metal flowing passage 2 is desirable to be half circular shape or half elliptic shape. The total extended distance of the molten metal is lengthened and the contacting area of the reducing gas with the molten metal is enlarged by meandering the flowing of the molten metal into both sides or one side of the projections 3, 13 arranged in the molten metal flowing passage 2 of the transporting trough 1.
