PURPOSE: To decrease striate segregation and to make its quality uniform and its productivity high by installing and electromagnetic stirring coil in a prescribed position and casting continuously a molten steel by and at a prescribed AC magnetic field, degree of heating the molten steel and casting speed.
CONSTITUTION: A molten steel is poured into a casting mold at ≤45°C difference between the temp. of the molten steel in a tundish and the temp. of the liquidus line and ≤0.7m/min casting speed while a heat insulating type flux is charged therein. The molten steel is stirred by an electromagnetic stirring coil. The electromagnetic stirring coil installed in the casting mold generates the AC magnetic field of 1.5W10.0Hz frequency (f) and 195×e-0.18fW604×e-0.20f gauss intensity G of the magnetic field in the central part of the coil. The electromagnetic stirring coil installed in the end solidification period part of a secondary cooling zone generates the AC magnetic field of 1.5W10.0Hz (f) and 895×e-0.20fW2,137×e-0.20f gauss G in the prescribed range.
