Title:
CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD OF PURE MOLTEN STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5533853
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable continuous casting of pure molten steel in a mold by separation and removal of inclusion contained in molten metal agitating molten metal in the rooms strongly by means of 2 gates dividing the tundish into 3 rooms and the molten steel passages through the gates.

CONSTITUTION: Molten steel poured from a ladle into the steel receiving vessel 2 of tundish 1 flows through the passage 3 of gate 8 into the agitation vessel 4 enclosed by 2 gates, and is mixed up under the turbulent condition. By this mixing, fine alumina and low melting point inclusion cohere and grow, then they are separated and removed from molten steel. The remaining inclusion is completely removed in the inclusion floating vessel 6 following the agitation vessel 4. Then, pured molten steel is poured into the continuous casting mold.
